Barcode Generator
Create real, scannable barcodes — CODE128, EAN-13, UPC-A, CODE39, ITF-14, and Codabar — right in your browser. Free vector download, no account, no limit on how many you make.
✓ Check digits calculated for you
For EAN-13 and UPC-A, type just the product digits — we calculate the final check digit automatically.
ⓘ Linear (1D) barcodes only
This tool covers CODE128, EAN, UPC, CODE39, ITF-14, and Codabar. Need a QR code? That's a 2D format — use our dedicated QR Code Generator instead.
⚠ Fixed-length formats
EAN-13, EAN-8, and UPC-A require an exact digit count — that's a rule of the barcode standard itself, not a limit we impose.

Common questions
Are these barcodes actually scannable?
Yes — they're generated using the same encoding standards real scanners expect (CODE128, EAN, UPC, CODE39, ITF-14, Codabar), not just a decorative image of stripes.
What's the check digit, and why do I only type 12 digits for EAN-13?
The last digit of EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, and ITF-14 is a checksum calculated from the digits before it, used to catch scanning errors. Type just the product digits and we calculate that final digit for you automatically.
Which format should I use?
CODE128 is the most flexible and a good default for general use (it handles letters, numbers, and symbols). Use EAN-13 or UPC-A specifically for retail products that will be scanned at a point of sale, and ITF-14 for shipping cartons.
Can I generate many barcodes at once?
Yes — switch to Bulk mode, paste one value per line, and every line becomes its own barcode using the same format, downloadable individually or all together as a ZIP.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No, every barcode is generated locally in your browser using the JsBarcode library. Nothing you type is sent to a server.
Do you support QR codes?
Not on this page — QR is a 2D format that works differently under the hood. Use our dedicated QR Code Generator, which also supports Wi-Fi, contact cards, and more.
